The Meridian Federal Union

FOUR STATES,
ONE CITY

A federation with a shared capital and four registries. Where you register decides which document you carry and which office handles your file.

New arrivals hold a provisional pass for 7 days. It gets you through the door; it does not get you a bank account, a contract or a property. Registering is the first thing worth doing.

Institutions

Who runs what

None of these are decorative. Each one holds records that follow you around.
City Hall

The civil register

Identity, residence, documents, civil unions and adoptions. Every counter is staffed, every record is permanent, and every ID card is issued by a specific state.

Chamber of Commerce

Business oversight

Charters companies, issues the nine categories of trade licence, and holds the register anyone can search. Suspensions and revocations are public too.

Banking

Licensed institutions

Banks operate under a charter — central, private, treasury, exchange authority or deposit insurance — and publish reserve ratios against it.

Law enforcement

Cases and courts

Reports, warrants, arrests, evidence and citations are recorded. Being wanted is a fact about you, not a rumour.

Healthcare

Hospitals

Treatment produces a medical record. Some of it matters later, in ways you would rather it did not.

Housing

Somewhere to live

Rooms and property, rented and held. An address is a real thing here — it is what residence is declared against.

Transparency

What the public can see

A city where you cannot find out who owns what is not a city.

Business charters, trade licences and bank reserves are open to anyone, with no login — see the public registry.

Personal records are not. Your identity, your balance and your transactions are visible to you alone, in the portal, after you prove it is you.
